eLC Course Roles

All eLC users can be added to individual courses in eLC, and assigned a variety of different roles. For regular academic courses, the basic roles of Instructor and Student are managed through automated processes established by EITS and the Registrar's office, to ensure the right people are in the right courses at the right times. Instructors and administrators are also able to add eLC users to individual courses, and can assign alternate roles to those users, to suit their needs.

Please note: If users who are not on-record as instructor or student are added to an academic course in one of those roles, they will be automatically removed from the course without notice. For all other roles, instructors should take care to ensure that student privacy and FERPA rights are appropriately protected, by giving access to things like the gradebook and student work only as is necessary for running a class.
