Films on Demand is a streaming service provided by the UGA Libraries, offering educational films from the the arts and humanities; social sciences; business and economics; health and medicine; and science and mathematics as well as a collection of United Newsreels.

Adding Videos from Films on Demand to Your Course

Videos from Films on Demand can be added to your course content by adding them to new files/pages.

  1. Open the desired course.
  2. From the course navbar, select Content.
  3. Click on the module or sub-module to which you want to add the video.
  4. Click Create New.
  5. Choose File/Page
  6. The file/page editor will open. Provide the page with a title.
  7. (Not recommended) Provide an optional due date.
  8. Click the Insert Stuff Button in the page content editor.

  9. From the list of sources, click Films on Demand to select it.

  10. Use the search function to find the desired video in Films on Demand. When you locate the desired video, select "Embed Small", "Embed Medium", or "Embed Large" from the dropdown on the right. The selection determines the size of the preview of the embedded video in the course.

  11. A preview of the video will appear. In the lower left corner of the page, click the Insert button.
  12. Add any additional content to the page content area, like guiding questions or other instructional content.
  13. Click Save and Close to allow students immediate access to the content, or select Save to save the content and continue editing.
