It scans course files to flag accessibility issues and offers remediation guidance. It creates up to eight alternative formats, provides accessibility indicators for instructors, and helps improve content accessibility.
How to Use this Tool in eLC
Ally is already installed for all users in eLC.
- Instructors: In the Content tool, click the Ally icon to open a feedback panel with detailed explanations of the accessibility issues and step-by-step guidance for making improvements. You can also view the Course Accessibility Report from the eLC course homepage widget, which prioritizes issues and suggests which fixes will have the biggest impact.
- Students: Students can access alternative formats (such as audio, HTML, or tagged PDFs) by clicking the Alternative Formats icon that appears next to supported items in the Content tool in eLC.

To use Respondus Monitor, the instructor must first enable Lockdown Browser for a quiz. In that process, they can also check the select box next to “Require Respondus Monitor (automated proctoring) for this exam,” which will expand to provide additional options for you to enable for that particular eLC quiz.
